The Best Practice audit is a thorough analysis of your website in terms of its compliance to DTI Best Practice standards and guidelines. In total, the Best Practice Audit examines 50 key areas of your website, although the 2 main sections included in the audit are that of usability and accessibility. The usability section covers the following areas:
- The design of your website
- Navigation system
- Content
- Use of head tags
- Quality of programming
- Physical structure
- Overall usability
The second main area of the best practice audit includes an analysis on the accessibility of your website to the legally required, Level A Standard (as defined by the Disability Rights Commission Code of Practice). This section of the audit examines your website in the following 4 areas:
- The none-text elements used on your site (e.g. images/multimedia etc)
- The level of accessibility your design provides
- The use of frames and tables on the site
- The accessibility of the content on the site
The other audit included in the Gold report package is the Online Marketing Strategy Audit. This examines your current online strategy in order to help you understand why your website is not generating its expected return on investment. The audit is focussed on your website’s performance in the search engines, and also identifies your competitor’s level of optimisation and performance. By analysing the competition, the audit provides realistic view of what is required to compete effectively in each of the major engines – Google, MSN and Yahoo.
The Online Market Strategy audit provides you with feedback on the following areas:
- Where you are in the major search engines for one of your keywords and your company name, which will identify if your website has even been indexed by the search engines.
- Who your major competitors are in the search engines.
- How many people are searching for your most important keyword phrase, to identify if there is actually an online market for your products and services.
- How many incoming links your website has compared with your competitors to provide you with an indication of what is required to compete at the top positions in the search engines.
The Gold report package is priced at £198 + VAT
