Building your digital marketing strategy top tips.
What do businesses need to maintain success and continue to prosper? CUSTOMERS! Businesses need to continuously acquire new customers and keep their existing customers to be successful. The answer sounds simple, but it isn’t that easy –especially in in today’s market, you need to fight for your customers as there are hundreds of companies offering the same products and services as you!
To put up a good fight – businesses need a well thought and researched digital marketing strategy. However, not just any strategy will make you successful; businesses need to use a variety of marketing strategies that will drive success and your company’s ROI.
Here is a few of our top tips when devising a successful marketing strategy;
1. Research, research, research…and then more research!
You can never do too much research; you can never know enough information on your industry, customers and competitors. To be able to place yourself successfully in the marketing you need to gain insight and knowledge into what your customers want and where they are likely to find you. You need to know how well your competitors are doing, where are they promoting themselves, how much market share they have and most importantly, how can your business can do it better!
2. Build relationships with your customers
Building relationships with your customers is easier than ever in today’s multi-channel environment. Sustaining relationships with your customers will create brand loyalty. The important thing to think about is consistency – you need to always be thinking of new ways to strengthen existing relationships so customers don’t stray away to your competition.
3. Shout about it!
Whether you are promoting your message through email marketing, social media or paid ads, make sure you tell your story, explain your services and your brand, and shout about why you are different from your competitors.
4. Think about your content
Keeping your content interesting and fresh will allow for more exposure to your brand through relevance and accuracy. No one wants to read boring and irrelevant content so think before you write – what is your message?
5. Be consistent
You need to find your business’s unique selling point and you need to embrace it – you need to keep this message consistent through all you’re marketing and branding. Consistency creates brand recognition in the long run and as your business grows you want people to recognise you!
6. Can your customers find you?
Although it is important for you to explore all channels available when promoting your brand and products but your customers may not use every digital channel out there – from your research, you will gain a good understanding into where your customers are likely to go online. Stretching yourself too thin across many channels may result in losing customers.
Once you have followed these steps you can start deciding on where to promote your brand and products and building individual digital marketing strategies, whether it be social media, email marketing, search engine marketing or display advertising.
To do this, you may feel like you need the help and guidance from a digital marketing agency and if that’s the case, talk to Xyone today, we have been creating successful digital marketing strategies for our clients for 11 years.
