Investors seeking financial advice are currently prone to looking on the internet, according to new research.
A survey recently carried out by Forbes.com found that 65 per cent of investors named the web as their most important investing information resource.
Further figures showed that over half the respondents spent more time online in 2008, with 47 per cent connected for 20 hours or more a week.
"In these turbulent times, the need for up-to-date business information is more critical than ever," said Forbes.com president and chief executive Jim Spanfeller, assessing the figures.
He continued: "These two studies further underscore the trend where more affluent investors and business decision makers are looking to the web as their primary source of business information."
Among financial advisors, the internet was the most popular information resource with 68 per cent of the group, with 39 per cent saying that they read newspapers less in 2008.
