Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising has been recommended to marketers taking their tentative first steps into the online world.
According to Padda Gurmeet, the method of search engine marketing is perfect for those who have just set up an online business.
The search engine optimisation (SEO) expert says that the technique is an "excellent way to get immediate qualified traffic to your site".
She went on to advise: "Start small, and increase your campaign as you track results and know what is working. Google Ad words, Yahoo, Ask, and MSN are all good search engines to advertise with."
The British Chamber of Commerce (BCC) recently warned against lowering online marketing budgets in the midst of the ongoing economic downturn.
"If you don't look after your customers in this current economic climate, you really will struggle," BCC managing director John Dunsmere said, urging firms to press ahead with their marketing drives.
